Looking for help with anxiety? Maybe you need help with grounding?
Enter Crystals!
The fascination with crystals and other gemstones dates back to many civilizations for thousands of years. In the Middle Ages, people thought that crystals would bring a spiritual presence. People had this hunger to have something physical that embodies faith and spirituality, still today the hunger is there and that’s why crystals are so popular. Crystals, in a way, can fulfill a spiritual need for some people. While some people go to church, some do yoga, and others collect and meditate with crystals.
The New Age culture sparked to life in the 1970s and 80s, and healing gemstones saw a rebirth of their own. People drew on the many ancient traditions and beliefs. As we enter the Age of Aquarius there’s been a recent uptick with American adults turning to what’s known as complementary and alternative medicine. Trying a more holistic approach to certain ailments and emotional healing such as anxiety or depression.
What is also interesting about crystals is partly that they have these contradictory physical qualities: They are both dark and transparent. You can see through them, but not really. Their ability to refract light and its transparent but dark appearance are partially the reason why so many different cultures and societies ascribed magical powers to this stone. Crystals have often symbolized spiritual purity and perfection and was often used in religious contexts. Healing crystals and gemstones have a long and storied past throughout history. Used for medical healing and metaphysical enlightenment, crystals have brought peace and protection to many people for thousands of years. They continue to span cultures and religious beliefs and are widely used as a means of healing physical, mental, and spiritual ailments.
I do believe nature does have a healing effect on people. It just makes sense to me that everything that comes from the earth would have a certain frequency. We are all made of energy, as is everything around us. It only makes sense that they would have healing properties coming from Mother Earth.
Crystals can help "stay connected to the Earth, our universe, and just nature in general."
Some of my favorites?
Rose quartz for self-love, Lapis Lazuli for communication, and Smoky quartz for protection. Amethyst geode to emphasize healing, a pink Rose quartz to activate love and a golden Citrine to promote prosperity and eliminate stress, Selenite for cleansing, Tigers Eye for grounding and focus as well as protecting from negative energies. Aventurine the "lucky" crystal or the "stone of opportunity" increases ones motivation and and creativity.
I have to say I love my crystals as I feel the energy I want from them. They are beautiful creations formed from our Earth and just as humans there are no two just alike. I keep some of my favorites in a glass bowl on my nightstand. and have others scattered around the house. I am also known to put them in my pockets, and Yes, I charge them under the full moon and sometimes I put them out in the sun.
I also make jewelry with crystals found from different places we have mined. Take a look at my shop on my page or my Etsy @rcbhandcrafted for the full collection.
